Reports To: Senior People Business Partner

Department: People

Location: Hybrid / Bedford 2-days per week

Role Purpose & Summary

This role is part of the People Partnering team, providing professional, high-quality, and customer-focused advice for our People and Leaders across the full generalist HR remit. You will work autonomously and be a key point of contact for Leaders in supporting day-to-day operational and employee relations while driving improved Leadership capability.

Responsibilities

  • Act as an initial point of contact, providing advice to Leaders and Colleagues on a variety of people-related matters across the employee life cycle.
  • Proactively manage Policies, Procedures, Guidance, and Templates to ensure compliance with government legislation.
  • Support the People Business Partnering team with the delivery of the People agenda and key projects.
  • Manage Employee Relations in a positive manner, working in partnership with relevant Leaders.
  • Assist with the production and analysis of People Metrics and providing insight.
  • Ensure integrity of the people data within Workday, flagging inaccuracies to the relevant leader.
  • Identify ways to improve processes and policies to enhance the people experience.
  • Monitor external HR best practices and suggest improvements in line with our ambitions.

Skills And Experience

  • Previous experience of working autonomously within a commercially focused People environment.
  • Deep knowledge of UK Employment Law, legislation, and People Practices/Policies.
  • Experience in advising and coaching across different levels of Leadership.
  • Passionate about quality and standards within the People context.
  • Ability to make sound judgements and decisions balancing business needs with legislation.
  • Ability to translate technical information clearly and concisely.
