Autodesk's Sustainability Solutions Team accelerates the ideation, development, and supports adoption of sustainability-focused technologies across Autodesk's product portfolio. We partner closely with industry strategy, product, research, and customer-facing organizations to align Autodesk's sustainability vision with actionable product strategies, customer value creation, and measurable environmental outcomes.

We are seeking a Sustainability Solutions Technical Advisor who will drive the exploration, definition, and acceleration of sustainability solutions development across Autodesk's emerging business areas. Supporting both AECO Strategy and Cross-Industry Innovation, this role focuses on developing sustainable solutions in emerging markets and strategic business growth areas, including Autodesk Forma, Water, Operations and Infrastructure.

The Sustainability Solutions Technical Advisor operates at the intersection of customer demand, technical feasibility, and scalable product development, ensuring Autodesk's sustainability solutions meet real-world needs while aligning with Autodesk's platform and next-generation technology vision.

Building upon a technical know-how of Autodesk's in-market carbon solutions, you will unlock new solutions to drive sustainability in emerging business areas. In this role, you will translate customer workflows, sustainability requirements, and industry trends into actionable product insights and solution prototypes that directly inform core product strategy as well as early-stage developments. This role requires a strong technical foundation, a hands‐on prototyping mindset, and an eagerness to "roll up your sleeves" to explore concepts, test viability/feasibility, and iterate quickly with product teams.

You will identify and shape sustainability solutions with a focus on emerging business priority areas, exploring agentic workflows and automation capabilities that can scale, while supporting core capabilities in embodied & operational carbon, biodiversity, circularity and resilience in the AECO portfolio.

With a customer‐facing mindset and as a strong user of Autodesk's AECO software solutions, the ideal candidate blends customer empathy with systems thinking to drive novel solutions development — by understanding how sustainability challenges manifest in AECO and adjacent industries, and how emerging Autodesk technologies can unlock meaningful impact. Through deep collaboration with product, engineering, research, customer‐facing teams, and strategy stakeholders, this role ensures that sustainability opportunities are grounded in customer value, are technically viable, and positioned to scale across sustainability solutions.

Responsibilities
  • Lead new Sustainability Solutions ideation for Emerging Business priorities.
  • Evaluate opportunities in emerging business areas and identify novel sustainability solutions.
  • Conduct technical discovery to understand customer goals, workflows, and challenges and synthesize insights to articulate sustainability‐driven requirements.
  • Translate customer needs, workflows and sustainability requirements into actionable proof of concepts and prototypes.
  • Lead hands‐on prototyping and iterative concept exploration to validate and refine workflows based on real customer engagements.
  • Translate sustainability use cases into reusable components, patterns, and workflows that integrate with Autodesk's evolving platform architecture – especially those leveraging next‐generation platform capabilities.
  • Collaborate closely with engineers, designers, product teams, and researchers to iterate quickly and validate early concepts.
  • Serve as a Technical Advisor for Sustainability Solutions to Key Customer Engagements.
  • Showcase in‐market sustainable solutions, deliver demonstrations and solicit technical feedback with customers to inform and influence ongoing core product development with customer insights.
  • Partner with customers to lead technical engagements of sustainability solutions, in collaboration with the AECO Sustainability Strategy Manager and Impact Growth Enablement teams.
  • Develop and deliver technical enablement plans for key customers on priority sustainability solutions (e.g. Total Carbon).
  • Synthesize product feedback and technical insights to influence product teams' development roadmaps.
  • Shape strategic AECO & cross‐industry solutions.
  • Support strategic projects and initiatives to gather and synthesize customer insights that will shape the team's long‐term strategy.
  • Partner with the AECO Sustainability Strategy Manager to inform strategic, scalable sustainability solutions.
  • Partner with the Sustainability Innovations Strategy Manager to develop novel, sustainability solutions in support of priority innovation themes and emerging tech initiatives.
  • Support the development of agentic, automation‐driven, and AI‐enabled workflows that can scale across the Autodesk portfolio.
  • Ensure visibility, coordination, and shared understanding across platform, product, and strategy teams.
Required Qualifications
  • 7‐10+ years in technical enablement, product strategy, solution engineering, technical consulting, sustainability innovation, or related AECO domains. Knowledge of PDMS & M&E industries a plus.
  • Proven expertise in Autodesk's solution portfolio and familiarity showcasing Autodesk's core technologies alongside new capabilities.
  • Strong understanding of sustainability drivers such as carbon, energy, water systems, resilience, materials, and circularity.
  • Strong presentation delivery skills and comfort presenting to both technical/end‐user and decision‐maker audiences.
  • Experience translating customer requirements into product concepts, prototypes, or workflows.
  • Proven ability to work with engineers and product teams on early‐stage and emerging technology concepts.
  • Comfort working with APIs, data schemas, and early‐stage technical exploration.
  • Hands‐on prototyping experience—workflow mockups, technical demos, simulation models, or proof‐of‐concept tools.
  • Excellent synthesis, communication, and cross‐functional collaboration skills.
