About the Role
We are searching for a strong Growth-focused Software Engineer to our Product Growth team driving user product adoption, engagement and monetisation for our next-generation, AI-powered architecture design product, Forma. In this role, you will sit at the critical intersection of engineering, product, and business strategy. We operate with a strong commercial bias: we believe that code is a means to an end. Your true measure of success will be the tangible commercial outcomes and user growth you drive. If you are passionate about moving the needle on key business metrics, running rapid experiments, and focusing relentlessly on the end result, this is the perfect role for you.
Responsibilities
- Drive growth: You will design, build, and deploy experiments aimed at improving user adoption and engagement as well as our early self-serve monetisation experiments.
- Execute rapid experimentation: Formulate hypotheses and execute A/B tests at a high velocity. You will build minimum viable features to validate ideas quickly, understanding that many tests will fail, and that this failure is a celebrated and necessary part of the discovery process.
- Collaborate cross-functionally: Work seamlessly with Product Managers, Designers, Data Analysts and Marketing to identify growth bottlenecks and brainstorm innovative, high-impact solutions.
- Practice pragmatic engineering: Make smart trade-offs between engineering perfection and speed to market. You will handle edge cases pragmatically, often finding creative solutions that require minimal engineering effort to validate a concept.
- Leverage AI to multiply output: Act as an AI-accelerated generalist. You will use modern AI tools to accelerate your workflow, stepping outside traditional engineering boundaries to assist with lightweight product management, data analysis and maybe even design tasks to get experiments live faster.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for someone who embodies specific traits that align with our outcome-over-code philosophy. Prior experience in a formal Growth Engineering role is highly desirable, a relentless growth mindset is the absolute prerequisite.
- Growth mindset & commercial bias: You care deeply about the business impact of your work. You understand that engineering is a tool to solve user problems and drive revenue. And you have a demonstrated ability to drive the team's work to completion, breaking complex tasks into smaller, actionable pieces.
- AI-accelerated generalist: You have a strong bias toward using AI to multiply your output. You are comfortable stepping outside traditional engineering boundaries, using AI tools to assist with lightweight product management and design tasks to get experiments live faster.
- Self-starter with infinite curiosity: You are proactive about coming up with your own hypotheses and experiments. You do not wait to be handed a rigid roadmap; you find opportunities in the data and act on them.
- Resilient to lost code: You are completely comfortable with the reality of experimentation. You know that a significant portion of the code you write will be discarded if an experiment does not yield the desired results, and you do not let ego get in the way of progress.
- Comfortable with unscalable solutions: You understand that early tests might be small, scrappy, and unpolished. You prefer a pragmatic approach to validate an idea in days over spending weeks building a highly scalable but unproven feature.
- Product-minded communicator: You possess strong product instincts and can articulate the "why" behind your technical choices to non-technical stakeholders. You thrive in an autonomous culture and enable co-workers through knowledge sharing.
- Code all-rounder: Experience with multiple languages and technologies, including modern frontend frameworks, large-scale systems, and cloud computing.
Qualifications
- Experience with data-driven development, A/B testing methodologies, and iterating based on user behavior data.
- Interest in conversion optimization, user journey analysis, and driving impact aligned with our mission.
- Experience across modern frontend frameworks, large-scale systems, and cloud computing.
- Comfort using modern AI tools to accelerate workflow across engineering, product, and design tasks.
Even if you feel you don't check off all the items on the list, we still encourage you to apply.
