The Role
As part of our fast expanding Electric Vehicle (EV) business, the EV Technician will lead and support the EV Mechanics in the safe removal and refitting of high-voltage (HV) traction batteries from electric vehicles before and after battery repair or remanufacture. They will have responsibility for ensuring their team members are trained to operate in accordance with the agreed work instructions, safety and Group quality standards.
Key roles and responsibilities
- Safely remove and refit HV batteries from electric and hybrid vehicles prior to and after remanufacturing or repair.
- Support vehicle preparation, including pre- and post-removal checks, following strict safety and quality procedures.
- Adhere to all high-voltage safety protocols, isolation procedures, and company risk assessments.
- Use appropriate lifting, diagnostic, and mechanical equipment safely and accurately.
- Maintain accurate records of all work performed, including inspection checklists and process forms.
- Participate in ongoing technical and HV safety training provided by the company.
Requirements
Key Skills, Qualifications and Experience
- Ideally you will have Level 3 qualification in Light Vehicle Maintenance Repair (or equivalent) or the capability to be trained in - IMI Level 2 or 3 Award in Electric/Hybrid Vehicle System Maintenance (or equivalent HV safety qualification).
- Successful applicants will have strong mechanical or workshop experience with a good positive attitude and a Valid UK driving licence.
- Flexibility to work both day and late shifts as required.
- Computer literate.
