We are seeking an experienced General Manager for our AutoCamp Cape Cod property. The General Manager position is responsible for oversight of all aspects of the property with a focus on maximizing profitability and guest and team member satisfaction. Reporting to the Regional Vice President, you will provide leadership to all departments to ensure a successful operation, deliver on financial results, delight guests, and enhance AutoCamp’s culture.
AutoCamp has revolutionized alternative lodging by blending the traditional outdoor experience with the service- and design-forward thinking of a boutique hotel. Our properties feature upscale amenities such as spa-inspired bathrooms, luxurious linens, and bath products, complimentary bicycles, an award-winning, modern Clubhouse. Responsibilities
Essential Functions:

Guest Satisfaction
- Focus on creating memorable guest and associate experiences
- Be available during peak arrival, departure and breakfast hours to assist front desk team and interact with guests on a daily basis
- Review daily arrival lists for special comments including VIP’s. Provide welcome amenities and ensure all special requests are followed up by front desk team
- Interact professionally with guests, clients and associates in all email, telephone and face-to-face interactions
- Respond the same day or within 24 hours to all guest email inquiries and comments
- Review Guest Satisfaction Scores using Revinate and respond to guest alerts per AutoCamp SOP
- Exceed expectations of a TripAdvisor score of 4.5 or better
- Work closely with AGM on special programming to enhance guest experience
- Create wow; provide Guest Delight and Positive First Impressions on a daily basis
Revenue Management
- Work closely with the Director of Revenue to monitor and adjust room rates based on demand, availability and budget goals.
- Participate in all weekly revenue management calls.
- Provide feedback to Director of Revenue regarding pricing strategies
Sales and Marketing
- Maintain strong working relationship with sales team
- Participate in the hotel group sales process
- Be available for site visits for potential group bookings and provide a wow factor
- Assist in providing operational feedback on group contracts
- Review weekly group pickup with sales manager
- Participate in pre-convention meetings to review group resume with client and team
Food and Beverage
- Ensure food and beverage offerings are on brand and within budget guidelines
- Assist front office team in executing F&B plan
- Ensure the F&B retail in the market is fully stocked, organized and merchandised appropriately
- Order food and beverage supplies weekly
- Establish inventory controls and participate in month-end inventory and as needed
Housekeeping & Property Operations
- Work closely with AGM and Housekeeping Supervisor to improve productivity and flex/flow scheduling to meet with budgeted labor metrics
- Monitor cleaning schedules to housekeeping and inspect 5 rooms per week to check on quality and cleanliness.
- Inspect and evaluate room status after housekeeping and maintenance tasks are completed
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of all areas including storerooms
- Coordinate with maintenance, housekeeping and outside contractors for repairs, preventative maintenance and other projects
- Provide quotes as needed to RVP for approval
People & Culture
- Lead ongoing culture initiatives on property, including working with Cultural Ambassadors, scheduling quarterly team member events and supporting philanthropic efforts
- Cultivate AutoCamp core values and culture by engaging and motivating team members
- Implement action plans based on property Happiness Survey results
- Recruit, hire, onboard, and train all new team members with a focus on culture fit
- Develop a strong management team
- Monitor labor and scheduling in adherence to budget guidelines
- Ensure all workers compensation incidents are documented following the SOP
- Ensure all guest incidents are properly documented per SOP
- Perform quarterly and annual performance reviews per SOP
- Work with People & Culture Manager on performance management and documentation
Finance
- Responsible for hotel P&L statement
- Work closely with corporate accounting team
- Focus on GOP margins and expenses to be in line with budget
- Review, approve and input invoices into accounting and expense report systems
- Maintain accurate vendor files
- Respond to accounting inquiries and chargebacks within 24 hours
- Take weekly/monthly inventory, order supplies and equipment while adhering to monthly budget
- Track all purchases within budget guidelines
- Gain approval for all non-budgeted purchases
- Actively participate in annual budget creation process
- Prepare and execute capital expense improvement plans
Other Duties
- Respond to occasional after-hours or emergency calls
- Special projects as assigned by RVP
- Represent the AutoCamp brand in the local community and participate in local chamber, associations, and non-profit organizations
Requirements
- A passion for the great outdoors
- 5+ years management experience in the hospitality industry or related industry
- 2+ years General Manager experience in the hospitality industry or related industry
- Ability to coordinate and oversee a team
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, including representing AutoCamp and the property with the press
- Proficiency in Microsoft Suite applications, particularly Microsoft Excel and Word
- Experience with Google Suite products and Asana preferred
- Familiarity with Airstreams and/or RVs is preferred
- Strong math and quantitative reasoning skills
- Ability to solve problems in creative ways and with limited resources, must be a MacGyver
