Role Purpose
To support the Head of Technical & Training (HTT), Heads of Operations (HO), Regional Managers (RM) & Service Centre Managers in the smooth delivery of training and the development of Technicians' knowledge and ability, in the network operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Development training of Technicians as they proceed throughout their career, involving a range of skill assessments including procedural and practical knowledge.
- Training and educating new employees in Automotive glazing from locations throughout the United Kingdom.
- Carry out quality testing on equipment (electrical & lifting).
- Work alongside the HTT, RM’s and SCM to identify Technicians with poor workmanship and carry out reviews to identify training needs or conduct issues.
- Support the HTT with projects/development within the business.
- Support in the implementation and delivery of any Specialist training (for example, ADAS Diagnostic, Panther Fit Glass, Carbon Fibre Bodyshells).
- Support the Technical and Training team in the delivery and assessment of NVQ qualifications for Technicians.
- Evaluate all products that a technician uses or could be asked to use going forward.
- Develop written technical information reports on Automotive glazing installations.
- Encourage and actively promote excellent customer service skills throughout the business.
- Willingness to travel throughout the United Kingdom with overnight stays.
- Flexible approach to working hours.
Key Skills and Knowledge
- To hold or have held an NVQ 2/3 in automotive glazing and/or an ATA equivalent.
- Previous experience in training/developing automotive glazing technician’s skill levels.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Proven track record in evaluating products ensuring they are fit for purpose.
- Good level of IT literacy and proficient in the use of Microsoft packages such as Outlook, Word and Excel.
