The Role
As an MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim), you'll be responsible for stripping and refitting accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring all mechanical, electrical and trim components are reinstalled to manufacturer standards.
Key responsibilities include:
- Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components during the vehicle repair process.
- Diagnosing and replacing damaged parts as required.
- Carrying out vehicle inspections before and after repairs.
- Working alongside panel beaters and paint technicians to ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
- Using diagnostic equipment where required to identify and rectify vehicle faults.
- Ensuring all repairs comply with manufacturer repair methods and safety standards.
- Maintaining accurate job records and completing work within agreed timescales.
- Carrying out final quality checks before vehicles are returned to customers.
About You
This role would suit an experienced MET Technician / Mechanical, Electrical & Trim Technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced Bodyshop environment. You'll ideally have:
- Previous experience as an MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician within a Bodyshop or accident repair centre.
- Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting skills.
- Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment is advantageous.
- Good understanding of modern vehicle systems and manufacturer repair methods.
- Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A full UK driving licence.
