The Role

As an MET Technician (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim), you'll be responsible for stripping and refitting accident-damaged vehicles, ensuring all mechanical, electrical and trim components are reinstalled to manufacturer standards.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Removing and refitting mechanical, electrical and trim components during the vehicle repair process.
  • Diagnosing and replacing damaged parts as required.
  • Carrying out vehicle inspections before and after repairs.
  • Working alongside panel beaters and paint technicians to ensure repairs are completed efficiently.
  • Using diagnostic equipment where required to identify and rectify vehicle faults.
  • Ensuring all repairs comply with manufacturer repair methods and safety standards.
  • Maintaining accurate job records and completing work within agreed timescales.
  • Carrying out final quality checks before vehicles are returned to customers.

About You

This role would suit an experienced MET Technician / Mechanical, Electrical & Trim Technician who enjoys working in a fast-paced Bodyshop environment. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician within a Bodyshop or accident repair centre.
  • Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with a commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting skills.
  • Experience using vehicle diagnostic equipment is advantageous.
  • Good understanding of modern vehicle systems and manufacturer repair methods.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to high-quality workmanship.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
