THE ROLE

As an Experienced Bodyshop MET Technician, you will play a vital role within the accident repair process, carrying out all aspects of mechanical, electrical, and trim repairs on accident-damaged vehicles to manufacturer-approved standards. Working alongside Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, Vehicle Damage Assessors, and Workshop Controllers, you'll ensure every vehicle progresses efficiently through the repair process while maintaining exceptional standards of workmanship, safety, and quality.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Remove, repair, and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim (MET) components on accident-damaged vehicles
  • Diagnose damaged components and identify additional repair or replacement requirements
  • Carry out repairs using manufacturer-approved methods and industry best practices
  • Complete four-wheel alignment checks and adjustments where required
  • Work confidently on modern vehicles, including hybrid and electric vehicles
  • Collaborate with the wider bodyshop team to ensure efficient repair progression and vehicle turnaround
  • Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer standards, BS10125 requirements, and company quality procedures
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working environment while adhering to Health & Safety and COSHH regulations

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced, quality-driven MET Technician who takes pride in delivering first-class repairs and consistently high standards of workmanship.

  • Previous experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
  • Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (advantageous but not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and trim vehicle systems
  • Experience removing, repairing, and refitting vehicle components to manufacturer standards
  • Experience carrying out four-wheel alignment and vehicle diagnostics
  • Knowledge of hybrid and electric vehicle repair procedures is advantageous
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work efficiently within a fast-paced production environment
  • Strong team player with excellent communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence required
