THE ROLE

As a Bodyshop Preparation Technician, you'll be responsible for preparing vehicles and damaged panels for the repair and refinishing process, ensuring surfaces are completed to a high standard before they move through the Bodyshop.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Preparing damaged vehicle panels and surfaces for the painting process.
  • Carrying out sanding, filling, masking, priming, and other preparation work as required.
  • Removing imperfections and ensuring surfaces are smooth and ready for refinishing.
  • Preparing repaired panels to achieve the correct finish before paint application.
  • Working closely with Panel Beaters and Paint Technicians to maintain an efficient repair process.
  • Inspecting prepared areas to ensure they meet the required quality standards.
  • Completing allocated preparation work within agreed timescales.
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and the preparation area in a clean and safe condition.

ABOUT YOU

This opportunity would suit an experienced Bodyshop Preparation Technician / Vehicle Preparation Technician / Paint Preparation Technician / Bodyshop Prepper / Paint Prepper with a strong understanding of vehicle preparation and refinishing processes. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience within a Bodyshop, accident repair centre, or vehicle refinishing environment.
  • Strong practical experience in vehicle preparation, sanding, filling, masking, and priming.
  • Good understanding of the vehicle repair and paint preparation process.
  • Excellent attention to detail and pride in producing high-quality preparation work.
  • The ability to work efficiently while maintaining consistent quality standards.
  • Strong organisation and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A full UK driving licence.
