The Role

As a Panel Beater, you will be responsible for repairing accident-damaged vehicles to manufacturer standards, ensuring every repair is completed safely, efficiently, and to the highest level of quality. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Repairing and replacing damaged vehicle panels using approved repair methods
  • Stripping and refitting components where required while ensuring correct alignment
  • Carrying out structural and cosmetic body repairs
  • Assessing vehicle damage and reporting any additional repair requirements
  • Completing filler work, panel preparation, and corrosion protection treatments
  • Following manufacturer repair methods and industry best practices
  • Completing quality control inspections throughout the repair process
  • Maintaining tools, equipment, and a clean, safe working environment
  • Working closely with MET Technicians, Paint Technicians, and Vehicle Damage Assessors to ensure efficient workflow

About You

To be considered for this role, you will ideally have:

  • Previous experience as a Panel Beater, Panel Technician, or Vehicle Panel Beater within a busy Bodyshop or Accident Repair Centre
  • Manufacturer qualifications or recognised industry certifications
  • A recognised qualification such as NVQ, VCQ, SVQ, ATA, or equivalent
  • Current AOM009 Welding Certificate or BS equivalent (desirable)
  • Experience with MIG brazing, spot welding, rivet bonding, and high-strength steel repairs
  • Light MET qualification and bonding certification (advantageous)
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality repairs
  • A proactive, team-focused attitude with strong communication skills
  • Full UK Driving Licence
