THE ROLE

As a Multi-Skilled MET Technician, you will be responsible for the removal, replacement and refitting of mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles. You will play a key role in the repair process, working closely with Panel and Paint Technicians to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and returned to customers in excellent condition.

This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced MET Technician who can bring strong technical knowledge, attention to detail and a professional approach to a busy accident repair environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out accurate strip and refit of mechanical, electrical and trim components
  • Remove and refit vehicle panels, bumpers, lighting units, interior trims and associated components
  • Carry out mechanical and electrical work associated with accident repairs
  • Diagnose and resolve technical issues relating to vehicle repair
  • Work closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, Preppers and Workshop Controllers
  • Ensure all components are correctly fitted and vehicles are returned to manufacturer standards
  • Complete repairs within agreed production times while maintaining excellent workmanship
  • Follow manufacturer repair methods, Health & Safety procedures and bodyshop quality standards

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced and technically capable Multi-Skilled MET Technician who takes pride in their workmanship and can confidently work across a range of modern vehicles.

  • Proven experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and trim systems
  • Experienced in strip and refit of accident-damaged vehicles
  • Strong understanding of modern vehicle construction and repair methods
  • Confident diagnosing and resolving mechanical and electrical issues
  • Ability to work efficiently to agreed repair times and KPIs
  • Excellent attention to detail and commitment to quality
  • Able to work independently and as part of a wider bodyshop team
  • Professional, reliable and conscientious approach
  • IMI and/or ATA qualifications advantageous
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred
