THE ROLE

As an MET Technician, you'll play a key role in the repair of accident-damaged vehicles, carrying out the safe removal, repair and refitting of mechanical, electrical and trim components. Working closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians and Workshop Controllers, you'll ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and returned to manufacturer standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strip and refit mechanical, electrical and trim components on accident-damaged vehicles.
  • Diagnose and replace damaged mechanical and electrical components where required.
  • Remove and refit suspension, steering, braking and cooling system components.
  • Carry out wheel alignment checks and adjustments where required.
  • Protect vehicles throughout the repair process using appropriate protective equipment.
  • Work collaboratively with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians and Workshop Controllers to maintain efficient vehicle workflow.
  • Ensure all repairs are completed in accordance with manufacturer repair methods and health & safety procedures.
  • Carry out final quality inspections to ensure vehicles are returned to pre-accident condition.

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for a motivated and skilled MET Technician who enjoys working within a busy accident repair environment and takes pride in delivering high-quality repairs. You'll ideally have:

  • Previous experience as an MET Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop.
  • ATA Accreditation in MET or Accident Repair would be highly desirable.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical and trim repairs on modern vehicles.
  • Experience removing and refitting vehicle components to manufacturer standards.
  • Good understanding of vehicle diagnostics and repair procedures.
  • Experience carrying out wheel alignment checks is advantageous.
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to first-time quality repairs.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a team.
  • A positive, reliable and professional attitude.
  • Full UK Driving Licence.
