THE ROLE
As a Motor Vehicle Technician, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing customer vehicles to a high standard, ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and correctly. Your responsibilities will include:
- Carrying out servicing and routine vehicle maintenance
- Completing mechanical repairs and maintenance
- Diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults
- Using modern diagnostic equipment to identify faults
- Carrying out warranty repairs
- Completing vehicle health checks
- Accurately recording work carried out and parts used
- Interpreting technical information and wiring diagrams
- Ensuring all repairs meet the required quality standards
- Following workshop health and safety procedures
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Working efficiently with minimal supervision
- Providing professional advice and support where required
- Working as part of a close-knit workshop team
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced technician who has:
- NVQ Level 3 / City & Guilds or equivalent in Vehicle Maintenance & Repair
- Previous experience as a Vehicle Technician / Vehicle Mechanic
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic skills
- Good understanding of vehicle electrical systems
- Ability to interpret technical wiring diagrams
- Experience carrying out servicing, repairs and maintenance
- Good attention to detail and high standards of workmanship
- A full UK driving licence
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- A positive, reliable and professional attitude
- The ability to work efficiently in a busy workshop environment
MOT Tester qualification would be desirable but is not essential. Experience with light commercial vehicles would be advantageous, but is not essential, with training available to develop your skills further.
