An established and highly regarded commercial vehicle dealership is looking to recruit an experienced HGV Technician to join its professional workshop team in Mansfield. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced technician looking for a Monday-to-Friday day shift, competitive salary and excellent opportunities for technical development and career progression.

You will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing and repairing a wide range of HGVs and commercial vehicles, ensuring vehicles are safe, reliable and maintained to a high standard.

The Role

As an HGV Technician, you will be responsible for:

  • Carrying out routine inspections, servicing, maintenance and repairs on HGVs.
  • Working on both franchised and non-franchised commercial vehicles, including trailers.
  • Carrying out a wide range of defect repairs.
  • Diagnosing and rectifying mechanical and electrical faults.
  • Using manufacturer diagnostic systems, computer equipment and specialist tooling.
  • Completing job cards and service sheets accurately using online systems.
  • Following manufacturer procedures and warranty protocols.
  • Ensuring all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe and organised workshop environment.
  • Working as part of a professional team to minimise vehicle downtime.

About You

We’re looking for an experienced and reliable HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic / Commercial Vehicle Technician with:

  • Level 3 qualification in HGV / Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair preferred.
  • Level 3 LCV / Light Commercial Vehicle qualification will also be considered.
  • Previous experience servicing, maintaining and repairing commercial vehicles.
  • Strong mechanical and diagnostic fault-finding skills.
  • Good attention to detail and pride in workmanship.
  • A proactive and professional approach to work.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • An HGV Licence is desirable but not essential.

Working Hours

Monday to Friday 6:00am - 2:30pm. This is a dedicated day-shift position, offering a consistent Monday-to-Friday working pattern.
