HGV Technician - Birmingham Location: Birmingham Salary: £18.00 - £19.66 per hour, depending on qualifications Hours: Monday to Friday | 7:30am - 5:00pm | 45 hours per week Saturday: Alternate Saturdays, 7:00am - 12:00pm Overtime: £22.50 - £24.58 per hour after 45 hours Sunday / Bank Holiday: £27.00 - £29.49 per hour Company Van: Exclusive use for work purposes HGV Technician - Excellent Earning Potential & Development We're recruiting for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join an established commercial vehicle operation in Birmingham. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled technician looking for a varied role, excellent overtime earning potential and extensive opportunities for professional development. You'll work alongside an experienced team maintaining a fleet of HGVs and trailers, with the opportunity to develop your skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and specialist vehicle systems. The Role Your responsibilities will include: ·Carrying out servicing, inspections and preventative maintenance on HGVs and trailers. ·Fault-finding and repairs on mechanical, electrical and hydraulic systems. ·Carrying out trailer inspections and repairs. ·Working on braking systems and completing brake testing. ·Working on specialist blower trailers and associated equipment. ·Carrying out pre-LOLER inspections where required. ·Completing welding and fabrication work where required. ·Attending off-site breakdowns. ·Completing accurate maintenance and repair records. ·Working safely and efficiently in line with company procedures. About You We're looking for an experienced HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic with: ·NVQ Level 3 in HGV Motor Mechanics. ·Minimum 4 years' HGV mechanical experience. ·Strong mechanical fault-finding ability. ·Good understanding of hydraulic and electrical systems. ·Experience working on HGVs and trailers. ·Good Health & Safety awareness. ·A reliable, professional and proactive approach. Desirable: ·IRTEC qualification. ·HGV Licence. ·Auto Electrical experience or qualification. ·Hydraulic experience or qualification. ·Welding and fabrication experience.
