THE ROLE

As an Experienced Multi-Skilled MET Technician, you will be responsible for carrying out a broad range of Mechanical, Electrical and Trim repair activities on accident-damaged vehicles. Your versatility and technical knowledge will be key to ensuring vehicles are repaired efficiently, safely and to the highest possible standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Carry out mechanical, electrical and trim removal and refitting on accident-damaged vehicles
  • Complete complex strip and refit work using appropriate manufacturer repair methods
  • Diagnose mechanical and electrical faults and identify the correct repair requirements
  • Carry out repairs and checks involving suspension, steering, braking and associated vehicle systems
  • Carry out wheel alignment and associated checks where required
  • Work closely with Panel Technicians, Paint Technicians, VDA/Estimators and Workshop Controllers to maintain efficient vehicle throughput
  • Identify additional damage or repair requirements and communicate these effectively to the relevant team
  • Ensure all repairs meet manufacturer procedures, quality standards and Health & Safety requirements

ABOUT YOU

We're looking for an experienced and technically capable Multi-Skilled MET Technician who can confidently work across mechanical, electrical and trim disciplines and takes pride in delivering high-quality accident repairs.

  • Proven experience as a Multi-Skilled MET Technician within an automotive accident repair centre or bodyshop
  • Strong mechanical, electrical and trim knowledge
  • Strong mechanical repair and diagnostic experience
  • Good understanding of suspension, steering and braking systems
  • Strong wheel alignment knowledge and experience
  • Experience carrying out complex strip, repair and refit procedures
  • Strong knowledge of modern vehicle construction and manufacturer repair methods
  • Ability to diagnose faults and resolve technical repair issues effectively
  • Excellent attention to detail with a commitment to quality workmanship
  • Ability to work efficiently within a busy, fast-paced production environment
  • Reliable, professional and motivated approach to work
  • Strong team player with good communication skills
  • Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified (advantageous but not essential)
  • Full UK Driving Licence preferred
