MAINTENANCE TECHNICIAN Location: Derby Salary: £34,000–£37,500 per annum, depending on experience Joining Bonus: £1,500 Hours: Monday–Friday Contract: Full-time, Permanent Weekends: No weekend shifts Maintenance Technician – £37,500 + £1,500 Joining Bonus Are you an experienced Maintenance Technician looking for a permanent Monday-to-Friday role with no weekend shifts, a £1,500 joining bonus, overtime opportunities and genuine career progression? This is an excellent opportunity for a skilled Maintenance Technician to join a busy commercial vehicle workshop in Derby, maintaining and repairing a varied rental vehicle fleet. The Role As a Maintenance Technician, you will be responsible for keeping vehicles safe, reliable and maintained to a high standard. Your responsibilities will include: Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repairs Inspecting and testing vehicle systems and components Identifying worn or defective parts and completing repairs Carrying out preventative maintenance to reduce vehicle downtime Test driving vehicles where permitted and holding the appropriate licence Accurately recording completed work on workshop systems Completing job paperwork and maintenance records Ensuring vehicles are left in a safe and roadworthy condition Maintaining a clean, safe and professional workshop About You We're looking for a Maintenance Technician with: NVQ Level 2 or Level 3 in Vehicle Maintenance or equivalent Previous experience working with HGVs or LCVs A full UK driving licence Class 2 licence beneficial Good mechanical and fault-finding skills Strong attention to detail A proactive and reliable approach The ability to work effectively within a workshop team Previous experience as a Maintenance Technician within a fleet, rental or commercial vehicle environment would be advantageous.
