THE ROLE
As an MET Technician, you will be responsible for stripping and rebuilding the mechanical, electrical, and trim components of customers' vehicles to the highest possible standard. You will play a key role throughout the accident repair process, working closely with fellow Technicians, Vehicle Damage Assessors, and the Production Team to ensure every vehicle progresses smoothly and efficiently through the repair process.
Core Duties & Responsibilities:
- Strip and rebuild mechanical, electrical, and trim components on a wide range of vehicles
- Carry out four-wheel alignment checks and adjustments to manufacturer and industry repair standards
- Complete repairs using approved manufacturer and industry methods
- Diagnose damaged components and identify additional repair or replacement requirements
- Ensure vehicles are fully protected throughout every stage of the repair process using appropriate safety and protection equipment
- Work closely with fellow Technicians, Vehicle Damage Assessors, and the Production Team to ensure a smooth and complete vehicle repair process
- Work safely and competently on modern vehicles, including electric vehicles
- Adhere to all company policies, procedures, Health & Safety regulations, PPE requirements, and COSHH requirements
Quality, Safety & Repair Standards:
- Ensure all repairs are completed to the highest standards of safety and workmanship
- Follow manufacturer and industry-approved repair methods at all times
- Protect customer vehicles from further damage throughout every stage of the repair process
- Use appropriate PPE and ensure all safety equipment is checked and fit for purpose
- Maintain a strong working knowledge of COSHH requirements relevant to the role
- Accurately report any additional damage or parts requirements identified during the repair process
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Ensure all work is completed efficiently and within agreed repair timescales
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for a skilled, motivated, and quality-focused MET Technician who takes pride in delivering first-class vehicle repairs and consistently high standards of workmanship.
- Ideally IMI and/or ATA qualified as an MET Technician
- Strong previous experience within an automotive bodyshop or accident repair centre
- Proven experience stripping and rebuilding mechanical, electrical, and trim components
- Experience carrying out four-wheel alignment checks and adjustments
- Working experience with electric vehicles
- Strong knowledge of modern vehicle systems and manufacturer repair methods
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to delivering the highest quality of service
- Strong work ethic with the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multi-task and manage workload efficiently
- Excellent team player with a positive and professional attitude
- Committed to delivering excellent customer service
- Full UK Driving Licence required
