The Role
As Fleet Manager, you'll take ownership of a fleet of more than 550 vehicles, ensuring they remain safe, compliant, available, and operational while supporting the wider business.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Managing the allocation, utilisation, and availability of courtesy vehicles
- Ensuring all vehicles are maintained and compliant with DVSA, fleet, and safety regulations
- Managing servicing, maintenance, inspections, MOTs, and vehicle compliance
- Monitoring driver compliance and ensuring fleet safety standards are maintained
- Analysing fleet performance, utilisation, maintenance trends, and operating costs
- Developing and monitoring fleet KPIs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement
- Building strong relationships with operational, claims, regional, and site management teams
- Managing relationships with leasing companies, maintenance providers, transport contractors, and other suppliers
- Ensuring vehicle availability supports repair capacity and customer commitments
- Identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and maximise fleet performance
About You
We're looking for an experienced Fleet Manager who is confident managing a large and varied vehicle fleet and can operate effectively within a fast-paced environment.
You will ideally have:
- Previous experience managing a large and varied fleet
- Experience managing vehicles ranging from cars through to HGVs
- A CPC Licence
- Strong knowledge of DVSA regulations and road transport legislation
- Excellent understanding of vehicle compliance, maintenance, and safety requirements
- Strong organisational and time-management skills
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Experience managing external suppliers and service providers
- A commercially minded approach with the ability to monitor costs and improve fleet efficiency
- The ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with senior management and operational teams
