THE ROLE
As a Master Technician, you will take the lead on complex technical and diagnostic work while supporting the wider workshop team. Your responsibilities will include:
- Diagnosing complex mechanical, electrical and electronic faults across a range of vehicle systems
- Carrying out servicing, maintenance and repair work to the highest standards
- Ensuring a high level of quality and achieving a first-time fix
- Investigating customer-reported faults and identifying effective repair solutions
- Providing technical feedback and resolutions through manufacturer technical platforms
- Staying at the forefront of automotive technology, including Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
- Leading by example and demonstrating technical best practice
- Supporting, mentoring and providing technical assistance to other Technicians
- Assisting with the development and training of apprentices and junior colleagues
- Completing Vehicle Health Checks and identifying additional repair opportunities
- Maintaining accurate job documentation and repair records
- Maintaining a clean, organised and safe working environment
- Completing MOT tests in line with DVSA standards where applicable
ABOUT YOU
We're looking for an experienced and technically capable Master Technician with:
- NVQ Level 3 in Light Vehicle Maintenance and Repair, Motor Vehicle Technology or equivalent
- Previous experience as a Master Technician, Diagnostic Technician or Senior Vehicle Technician
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding ability
- Additional manufacturer training and technical recognition would be advantageous
- A passion for learning and developing within modern vehicle technology
- Knowledge or experience of Hybrid and Electric Vehicles
- The ability to work independently while supporting the wider workshop team
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
