This is a varied role that combines HGV driving with site operations, vehicle movements, and general yard responsibilities. We're looking for someone who takes pride in their work, has a positive attitude, and is happy to support the wider team where needed.

Shift Pattern: 42.5 Hour Week, Monday to Friday 07:00am to 16:30pm, Occasional Saturday if Required

Salary: £38,675 per annum

The HGV Class 1 Driver / Yard Hand Role:

  • Shunting and moving HGVs, trailers, and other vehicles safely around the site.
  • Carrying out general housekeeping duties, ensuring the yard and workshop areas remain clean, tidy, and well organised.
  • Separating waste and recyclable materials in accordance with company procedures.
  • Cleaning repaired vehicles to a high standard before they are returned to customers.
  • Carrying out quality control checks to ensure vehicles are presented in excellent condition.
  • Undertaking driving duties as required to support the needs of the business.
  • Securing and locking up the site at the end of the working day.

Requirements:

  • Hold a valid Class 1 (Category C+E) HGV driving licence.
  • Be confident and experienced in reversing and manoeuvring trailers safely.
  • Have excellent awareness of health and safety practices.
  • Be honest, reliable, and trustworthy, with the ability to work independently.
  • Take pride in maintaining high standards of cleanliness and presentation.
  • Be flexible and willing to undertake a variety of duties to support the business.
