THE ROLE
As an MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician, you’ll be responsible for safely removing, refitting, repairing, and replacing mechanical, electrical, and trim components to manufacturer and industry standards. You’ll work closely with the wider Bodyshop team to ensure vehicles are repaired efficiently and returned to customers in excellent condition.
Key Responsibilities:
- Remove and refit mechanical, electrical, and trim components.
- Carry out vehicle stripping and reassembly following accident damage repairs.
- Diagnose and resolve faults identified during the repair process.
- Ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications and quality standards.
- Work closely with Panel Beaters, Paint Technicians, and Vehicle Damage Assessors to maintain workflow.
- Complete repairs efficiently while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
- Follow all health and safety procedures within the workshop.
- Maintain accurate records of completed work where required.
ABOUT YOU
We’re looking for a skilled and motivated technician with experience in a busy accident repair environment. You should have:
- Previous experience as an MET (Mechanical, Electrical & Trim) Technician within a Bodyshop or accident repair centre.
- Recognised apprenticeship or Level 3 qualification in Vehicle Mechanical, Electrical & Trim (NVQ / IMI / SVQ / ATA), with a commitment to continuous professional development.
- Strong mechanical, electrical, and trim removal and refitting skills.
- The ability to diagnose issues during vehicle rebuilds.
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality repairs.
- The ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative team.
- A full UK driving licence.
