Paint Prep Specialist (Paint Prep Technician) – Contract position with E‑PPL in Malvern, United Kingdom. This on‑site role involves detailed surface preparation and quality control for vehicle components and full vehicles.
Core Responsibilities
- Meticulously inspect, clean, repair, sand, fill, and smooth all designated vehicle surfaces or parts, including plastic and fiberglass, to ensure a flawless substrate for painting.
- Accurately apply primer and masking, and perform rigorous quality checks on all prepped areas to meet E‑PPL and client quality standards before releasing the part for paint.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area, handle materials correctly, and strictly follow all safety and hazardous waste protocols.
- Work effectively with team members and site supervisors to maintain a smooth, efficient workflow and meet project deadlines.
Requirements
- Proven expertise in automotive bodywork, sanding, and surface preparation; experience with plastic and fiberglass repair is highly desirable.
- Skilled in using common hand tools and power tools used in body shop environments, with familiarity with various types of primers, fillers, and sealants.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to precision necessary to achieve OEM‑level quality.
- Ability to work efficiently and meet demanding production schedules and deadlines.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Vocational training or certification in automotive body repair or painting is a significant advantage.
