The Role of a Multi Skilled Technician
- Finishing the repair in a way that matches the rest of the bodywork or preparing the surface for a paint sprayer / you to Paint
- Mending rusted parts of a vehicle’s bodywork
- Removing any dents in panels
- Repairing minor scratches or making replacement panels
- You will work to a high standard and demonstrate a sound up-to-date knowledge of vehicle repair techniques
- The ability to use pulling and measuring systems, plus basic diagnostic equipment is also of importance
- Experience in stripping and refitting a variety of makes and models of vehicle
- Carry out diagnostic checks on vehicles
- Geometry Wheel Alignment
- Suspension and mechanical duties
- Stripping and Fitting Vehicles before and after paint.
- Stripping and Fitting bumpers and door.
- Repairing interior Plastics and Seats
- Repairing Exterior Plastics
- Dealing with wiring throughout the car
- Prepare vehicles to be sprayed and mixing paint to ensure a perfect match in order to spray
- Painting vehicles accordingly to a high standard
- Masking up vehicles
- Priming vehicles ready for spraying
- Using the correct equipment and tooling as required
- UK Driving Licence.
Requirements of a Multi Skilled Technician
- NVQ/IMI/City & Guilds Level 2 or 3 in Panel Beating, Paint Spraying or MET would be preferred but not essential.
Time served as a Multi Skilled Technician for 4+ years will also be considered.
- Must have previous experience with working in a fast paced bodyshop environment
- Must have a valid UK driving licence
