Role Description
This full-time, on-site Automotive Technician role is based in Bury and involves performing routine maintenance and repair services on a variety of vehicles. Daily tasks include diagnosing mechanical issues, completing scheduled services, conducting inspections, and carrying out repairs in line with manufacturer and shop standards. The Automotive Technician will work with service advisors to clarify customer concerns, document work performed, and ensure accurate records in the workshop system. The role also includes maintaining a clean and safe work area, using diagnostic tools and equipment properly, and following all health and safety procedures. Collaboration with other technicians and participation in ongoing training are expected to ensure high-quality, efficient service.
Qualifications
- Strong skills in Vehicle Maintenance and Maintenance & Repair to diagnose, service, and resolve a wide range of mechanical issues.
- Hands-on experience performing Oil Changes and related routine services to manufacturer or shop standards.
- Proficiency in Automotive Repair, including troubleshooting, part replacement, and system testing.
- Knowledge of Suspension systems, including inspection, repair, and alignment-related checks.
- Relevant automotive qualification or apprenticeship (e.g., NVQ/City & Guilds or equivalent) and a valid driver’s license.
- Ability to interpret technical manuals and diagnostic reports, with strong attention to detail and safety.
- Effective communication skills, reliability, and the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
- Experience with diagnostic equipment and familiarity with multiple vehicle makes is an advantage.
