Ready for a role where every day makes a difference? Join our Adult Services team in Kinson as an experienced Male Support Worker, supporting a gentleman with complex care needs through compassion, positivity and plenty of energy.
Due to the needs of these people we support, we can only consider applications from male candidates with experience in Autism or Complex Care, supporting people on a 2:1 basis.

The role
You’ll be providing person-centred support to Max, who lives in his own home in Northbourne. Max communicates in his own unique and meaningful way, using a combination of visual aids, PECS cards, signs, gestures and his digital communication aid. Your role will be to understand and support these different ways of communicating, giving Max the opportunity to express his choices, preferences and needs each day.
No two days will be the same, and there will be plenty of opportunities to support Max to enjoy the things that are important to him, both at home and out in the local community. This could include taking leisurely walks in the New Forest, popping to the local café for a drink and a cake, having a kick around with a football, listening to music or spending time completing puzzles.
Max is supported through a 2:1 service, meaning you’ll always work alongside another team member. You’ll share responsibility and work together to provide consistent, high-quality support, including supporting with personal care, medication and meal preparation. Just as importantly, you’ll help Max to enjoy life, stay active, develop his independence and achieve the goals that are important to him.
Alongside supporting Max day to day, you’ll play an important role in maintaining his support records, including care plans, finances, appointments and medication records. You’ll also follow his individual support plan, ensuring he feels comfortable, happy and supported, while using your own skills and life experience to encourage independence and develop good life skills within the community.
We have both full-time and part-time roles available.
Shifts are worked across Monday to Sunday, with a variety of hours between 7am and 10pm. The role includes alternate weekends and sleep-in shifts, with an additional payment for sleep-ins.
