Join our therapy team as a PBS Practitioner at Autism Unlimited, where we’ve spent over 50 years supporting children, adults, and families living with autism. We’re looking for a dedicated PBS Practitioner to join our multidisciplinary therapy team. Working alongside speech and language and occupational therapists, you will play a key role in supporting development and helping the people we support achieve positive outcomes. You’ll work closely with our Therapy and PBS Lead to deliver meaningful, person-centered support. This is a full-time role (39 hours per week), with flexible or part-time hours considered for the right candidate. The role offers variety, with opportunities to support both students and adults in the community—making a real difference to the people we support every day.
Duties would include:
- Delivering evidence-based Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) tailored to student needs, including functional assessments and person-centered intervention planning, implementation, and review.
- Working closely with classroom teams to ensure PBS strategies are applied consistently and effectively.
- Supporting and delivering PBS training to staff to build confidence and best practice across the team.
- Helping develop and strengthen our PBS service, contributing ideas to enhance and expand our current approach.
Our ideal applicant will need to have:
- An undergraduate degree or equivalent qualification relevant to the role e.g. Psychology, Child Development, Mental Health Nursing.
- Experience of implementing a positive behaviour support service.
- Knowledge of assessment tools and positive support processes including how to construct and implement a behaviour support plan.
- Experience of supporting autistic children/young people and/or those with learning difficulties.
- A driving licence to enable travel between sites.
