Community Support Worker

We’re looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Community Support Worker to join our team in Poole. This role is all about building a positive, respectful partnership with a young man as he grows in confidence, independence, and self‑belief. You’ll play a key part in supporting him to navigate everyday life—whether that’s at home, out in the community, or exploring new opportunities. From encouraging him to try new activities to helping him access work placements and develop practical skills, your support will open doors and create possibilities. This is more than a support role—it’s a chance to empower someone to make their own choices, discover their strengths, and shape a life that feels meaningful and fulfilling to them. The role George uses visual aids to help him plan and understand his day. We have been fortunate enough to work with George since the start of 2025 as he is taking part in our ‘Futures’ project and was welcomed into our adult services programme in March. Day To Day Life Will Include Enjoying a singalong at the local Karaoke club Spending time at the skate park learning new tricks Day trips to the Isle of Wight Enjoying interactive board games that spark creativity, connection, and a bit of friendly competition George is supported on a 1:1 basis and is reliant on his support staff. He requires assistance with personal care, medication and meal preparation. As a valued member of our team, your role will involve a mix of meaningful support, from helping with daily routines like food preparation, shopping, and personal care, to accompanying George as he accesses the community and pursues his interests. You may also assist with administering medication to ensure his wellbeing. Hours: 39 hours This would be a mixture of shifts Monday – Sunday 7am – 10pm. This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment). A Support Workers Day Would Include Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bath and wash, medication Our Commitment We welcome applications from everyone and value diversity in our workforce.
