Overview
Are you ready to make a real difference? We\’re looking for a male support worker to join our team in Bournemouth supporting Leon.

A Genuine Occupational Requirement applies under Schedule 9, Paragraph 1 of the Equality Act 2010. This role is therefore only open to male candidates, referring to the sex legally assigned at birth.
To be considered for this role you must hold a Full UK driving licence, however access to your own vehicle is not essential.
The role
Leon lives in his own home in Muscliff. He communicates using a variety of visual aids such as PECS cards, signs and gestures, giving him his own unique way of sharing his thoughts and preferences.
Leon enjoys a range of activities, such as:
- Discovering the magnificent sea life at the Oceanarium
- Reaching new heights on the swings at the local park
- Bouncing away on his trampoline
- Challenging his support staff to a game of bowling
Leon receives 2:1 support and is reliant on his support staff. He requires assistance with personal care, medication and meal preparation.
Our ideal candidate would be someone who is calm, patient and confident with implementing boundaries which are set within Leon support plan. This enables Leon to feel confident and relaxed with his support workers.
As a valued member of our team, your role will involve a mix of meaningful support, from helping with daily routines like food preparation, shopping, and personal care, to accompanying residents as they access the community and pursue their interests. You may also assist with administering medication to ensure their wellbeing.
Hours
Full Time. This would be a mixture of shifts between 7am – 10pm – Monday – Sunday.
This role would include alternate weekends and sleep ins (sleep ins come with an additional payment).
A day in the life of a Support Worker would include:
- Sharing your skills and life knowledge with the people we support to enable good life skills and independence when living in the community
- Maintaining consistent and accurate records regarding care plans, finances, appointments and medication
- Following the support plan in plan for each person we support to enable the person to feel comfortable and happy, adapting this as required based on change in behaviour
- Providing some elements of personal care from personal hygiene prompts, helping to bathe and wash, medication
