Portfield School is a specialist provision to support children aged 4-19 in a unique and supportive environment, which allows our students to be the best they can be. Our school provision is oversubscribed each year, and we are extremely proud to be Ofsted 'Good' aspiring to become 'Outstanding'. We have grown massively and are currently teaching 120 students, which is a testament to the incredible work we do.

We are recruiting for a Class Teacher to join us and teach within our secondary phase (age range between 11-16 years old) on a full-time, term-time basis. We are in a very exciting period of growth and will open new 6th form facilities in Christchurch in September, and this person would be a part of this development.

To be considered for this role, you must have Qualified Teacher Status. For this role, we are looking for someone who can:

  • Plan and deliver effective lessons to small groups of students
  • Manage the wellbeing of students at all times
  • Build strong relationships with students, parents, staff, and school governors
  • Identify effective teaching methods to enhance student development
  • Demonstrate expertise across a range of subjects
  • Attend parent consultation meetings and keep parents updated on progress and additional requirements
  • Make a positive contribution to the wider life and ethos of the school
