Portfield School has a wide variety of very talented and keen creative students who thoroughly enjoy all aspects of art work. We are looking to recruit a talented School Artist to join us on a part time three day a week basis.

The School Artist plays a vital role in enriching the creative life of our school community, supporting students across two sites and engaging with a diverse range of ages, experiences, and abilities. This role is ideal for anyone passionate about art—whether you’re an experienced educator, practicing artist, or creative enthusiast eager to inspire others.

You will design and deliver inclusive, engaging art experiences that respond to individual needs, encouraging self-expression, confidence, and curiosity. Through a supportive and flexible approach, you’ll help students explore their creativity in ways that feel meaningful and accessible to them.

Working across a wide range of media—including drawing, painting, sculpture, and ceramics—you’ll provide opportunities for experimentation with different materials and techniques. You will also lead exciting whole-school initiatives such as Art Week, creating inspiring activities that celebrate creativity and bring the community together.

A key part of the role involves curating and showcasing student artwork, both within the school and in the wider community, including exhibitions linked to local events or charitable causes. In doing so, you’ll help build a vibrant, inclusive creative culture where every student can feel proud of their achievements and artistic voice.
