Autism Plus is a leading Yorkshire charity supporting adults and young people with autism, learning disabilities, mental health conditions, and complex needs. Founded in 1986 by parents seeking better support for their children leaving specialist schools, our mission remains to empower individuals to live independent and fulfilling lives. We employ over 350 staff across northern England, providing care support, employment support, and social enterprise services.

About the Role:

Shifts Pattern: 35 hours per week

We are seeking Support Workers who are empathetic and compassionate to deliver person-centred support to individuals with autism, learning disabilities, and mental health conditions in supported living settings. Your role will involve helping individuals live as independently as possible, supporting their goals, interests, health, well-being, and community involvement. No prior experience is necessary as full training will be provided, including a paid, three-week induction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist individuals in their homes according to Care Plans and assess their skills and needs.
  • Provide practical support, such as household tasks.
  • Offer emotional support through conversation and listening.
  • Adapt communication to meet individual needs.
  • Respect privacy and dignity at all times.
  • Support strategies to manage challenging behaviours.
  • Monitor healthcare needs, including medication administration where applicable.
