About the Role
- Hours: Shifts may cover days, evenings, weekends and bank holidays on a rolling rota.
- Location: Hull.
- Essential: Male only. Previous experience in a similar setting as a Complex Care Support Worker is essential for this role.
- Desired but not essential: Full, clean Driving Licence.
Responsibilities
- Assist individuals who have complex needs or mental health issues in their home, in accordance with Care Plans and assess their skills and needs.
- Offer positive behaviour support to individuals who express frustration through challenging behaviour by using appropriate strategies.
- Provide practical support for individuals such as helping with household tasks including cooking, cleaning, laundry, personal care and paperwork.
- Provide emotional support to individuals by talking to them and listening to their problems and concerns.
- Understand communication needs and adapt communication to each individual, e.g., sounds, tones, body language.
- Offer unconditional positive regard, respecting their right to privacy, and maintaining their dignity at all times.
- Assist the Clinical Team in their clinical duties with the individual.
- Become a role model and companion to the individual, uncovering shared interests such as hobbies and outings.
