The school has an Ofsted rating of Good.\\n\\nWe are seeking a committed Maths Teacher, who seeks to work as part of a supportive staff team. They will have a passion for improving the lives for autistic pupils and their families and a commitment to planning and delivering an enriching and meaningful curriculum in their subject area.\\n\\nThe school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people, and this is paramount in the work that we do. Any successful applicant will be subject to pre-employment checks, including an enhanced DBS check.\\n\\nPrevious experience of ASC, SLD, PMLD, SEMH or teaching in an additional needs’ environment is desirable.
However, full training and support will be given.\\n\\nMain purpose of the role\\n\\nThe subject Teacher will take responsibility for the subject implementation and teaching across the school to ensure:\\n\\n> Expectations set out in the Teachers’ Standards are met.\\n\\n> The quality of teaching is at least good.\\n\\n> Effective use of differentiation for each pupil with appropriate levels of stretch and challenge.\\n\\nImproved standards of learning and achievement for all.\\n\\nBrief description of duties and responsibilities\\n\\nStrategic Direction\\n\\n> Promote the subject, its importance, and the value that it brings across the school.\\n\\n> Have a good understanding of how well the subject is being delivered and the impact it has on pupil achievement.\\n\\n> Use this understanding to feed into the school development plan and produce an action plan for the subject.\\n\\nThe Curriculum\\n\\n> Develop and review regularly the vision, aims and purpose for the subject area.\\n\\n> Oversee the planning of the curriculum content, ensuring it is well sequenced to promote pupil progress.\\n\\n> Ensure the planned curriculum is effectively and consistently implemented across the school.\\n\\nLeading and Managing Staff\\n\\n> Provide support to staff regarding teaching and learning, resources, and planning in the subject area.\\n\\n> Monitor teaching and learning by visiting lessons, scrutinizing books, and talking with pupils to assess how well the subject area is being implemented and how well it is delivered across the school.\\n\\n> Provide feedback to staff based on the above observations to identify training needs and provide continuing professional development (CPD) in the subject area.\\n\\nTeaching\\n\\n> Plan, prepare and teach well-structured lessons to assigned classes and develop appropriate resources for this learning.\\n\\n> Teach individuals or groups of pupils within, or outside of, the classroom.\\n\\n> Adapt teaching methods to meet the individual needs of pupils and apply differentiated learning.\\n\\n> Use special equipment and facilities, such as smart boards, audio-visual materials and computers appropriately.\\n\\nEfficient and Effective Deployment of Resources\\n\\n> Provide support with differentiated resources in the subject area, to include intervention materials, support and relevant to all Learning Pathways.\\n\\n> Create a safe, welcoming environment and take care of the classroom accommodation, ensuring classroom displays are appropriate for a low arousal learning environment.\\n\\n> Audit, check and manage resources to ensure they are up to date and match pupil and curriculum needs.\\n\\n> Prepare appropriate resources for remote learning to ensure the curriculum can be delivered to pupils learning from home as required.\\n\\nWhole-School Organisation, Strategy and Development\\n\\n> Have an up-to-date knowledge and always adhere to school and AEM policies and guidelines.\\n\\n> Contribute to the development, implementation and evaluation of the school’s policies, practices and procedures, to support the school’s values and vision.\\n\\nPlease review the job description for more details\\n\\nPlease be aware, we are unable to accept applications from candidates who have restricted hours, and we are unable offer sponsorships.\\n\\nWhat we offer:\\n\\n * Extensive induction with autism specialist training\\n\\n * Paid job-related qualifications during employment\\n\\n * Free initial DBS Check\\n\\n * Employer pension scheme\\n\\n * Friendly and supportive work environment\\n\\n * Refer a friend scheme worth £500\\n\\n * Access to the Blue Light Card scheme\\n\\n * Employee Assistance Programme\\n\\n * Paid maternity/ paternity/ adoption leave\\n\\nWe reserve the right to close the advert once sufficient applications have been received, therefore, we advise you to submit your application as soon as possible.\\n\\nAutism East Midlands is an equal opportunities employer, and we welcome applications from anyone interested in working with people with autism.
