Autism Hertfordshire, part of Autism Bedfordshire, is an independent charity dedicated to improving the lives of autistic people and their families. Our adult services support autistic adults without a learning disability through a range of programmes, including skills development, social opportunities, and post-diagnostic support.
This role is key to ensuring our services are safe, effective, and responsive. You will work closely with the Senior Adult Services Manager to lead a small team, oversee service delivery, and drive continuous improvement across all adult provision. The success of this role is greatly dependent on having the right attitude and personality to foster a progressive working relationship with our members and having the adaptability to meet individual needs. An ideal candidate would be an organised individual with the appetite and desire to learn, adapt and develop our existing services.
Key Responsibilities- To provide operational leadership across Hertfordshire adult services, ensuring high-quality and consistent delivery across all programmes
- To line manage staff, including supervision and supporting ongoing professional development
- To oversee the planning, coordination, and quality assurance of social groups, skills sessions, and support services
- To lead on safeguarding within Hertfordshire adult services, including managing concerns, supporting staff, and ensuring best practice is followed
- To oversee risk assessments and ensure appropriate risk management processes are in place across all activities
- To monitor service performance, evaluate impact, and identify opportunities for improvement and development
- To build and maintain effective partnerships with local organisations, health and social care professionals, and community groups
- To support the development and delivery of training, workshops, and awareness sessions
- To ensure services operate in line with organisational policies, procedures, and relevant legislation
- To oversee responses to enquiries and helpline issues, ensuring appropriate support and signposting is provided
- To contribute to the strategic development and growth of adult services across Hertfordshire
- To deputise for the Senior Adult Services Manager as required
