Support Worker – Residential Services – part-time opportunity: 18–26 hours per week - Monday to Sunday shifts (some weekend shifts).
Are you passionate about helping autistic adults and those with learning disabilities achieve their desired potential? Autism Anglia, a well-established independent charity, is looking for a Support Worker to join our team. For this role it is essential that you have a Full UK Manual Driving License.
Location: Peldon Campus, Colchester, CO7
Salary: £12.96 per hour
Hours: Part-time only: 18–26 hours per week (overtime and sleep in shifts available). We do not offer sponsorships. Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK.
About The Role:
- Work in partnership with the wider Residential Team to provide person-centred, outcome-focused support.
- Support individuals in a variety of activities, including sport, leisure, cultural and recreational events, day trips.
- Assist with personal care needs, including bathing, dressing, and other daily routines, promoting independence, dignity, and wellbeing.
- Assist with communication, sensory support, or psychological monitoring and interventions.
- Drive mobility vehicles; therefore you must have a Full UK Manual License.
- Ensure all support plans, risk assessments, and documentation are accurate, up-to-date, and reflective of individual needs.
- Follow Safeguarding procedures and act promptly on any concerns.
We Welcome Applications From Individuals Who:
- Have experience as a Support Worker, Carer, Senior Support Worker, or Team Leader.
- Have experience working with autistic individuals, or can demonstrate a strong understanding of autism.
- Hold a full UK driving licence.
- Are experienced in providing intensive behavioural support.
- Have strong communication skills and experience coordinating activities in the local area.
