Are you passionate about helping young people reach their full potential? Doucecroft School, part of Autism Anglia, is looking for Bank Learning Support Assistants to join our friendly and dedicated team. The successful Bank LSA will aim to inspire and encourage learners to develop their knowledge and confidence across multiple educational disciplines, facilitating a supportive and safe environment for learning. This is a Bank (zero-hours) contract with opportunities for regular shifts, though hours are not guaranteed.
Location: Doucecroft School, Eight Ash Green, Colchester, CO6
Salary: £12.71 per hour
Hours: Flexible bank contract with shifts offered to suit business needs and your availability
What The Role Involves:
- Provide direct support to our learners in their learning environment in both a group and individual setting.
- Take an active role in a wide range of classroom and physical activities throughout the academic year; assisting and working closely with the Class Teacher and Teaching Assistant to contribute to lessons.
- Gain excellent on-the-job training together with continued professional development, support, and supervision.
- Support the class teacher in educational visits and school journeys and accompany learners on visits.
- Work with learners at lunchtime and supervise break times.
- Comply with and promote to others, the policies and procedures relating to the school, specifically those relating to child protection, safeguarding, health and safety, security confidentiality, and data protection.
- Potential driving responsibilities.
Most importantly, we’re looking for someone with patience, enthusiasm, and a genuine passion for supporting young people.
What We’re Looking For:
- NVQ Level 3 Supporting Teaching and Learning is highly desirable but not essential.
- Maths and English GCSE Grade C or above.
- Relevant experience working with learners with autism or learning disabilities in an educational setting is highly advantageous.
- Driving license highly desirable.
