The Autism and ADHD Diagnostic Centre (AADC) is looking for an experienced Neurodevelopmental Nurse Prescriber to join our team of clinicians supporting children and adults with ADHD and other neurodevelopmental conditions. You will undertake clinical assessments, prescribe and monitor medications, provide holistic patient support and work within a multidisciplinary team to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care.

What you will do:

  • Contribute to neurodevelopmental assessments as part of the multidisciplinary clinical pathway and support ongoing ADHD medication management for children and adults.
  • Support diagnosis and ongoing management of conditions including ADHD and autism spectrum disorder.
  • Independently prescribe, monitor and review medication regimens in line with national and local clinical guidelines.
  • Prescribe safely and appropriately in line with clinical guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Review medication effectiveness, side effects and treatment adherence.
  • Provide expert advice on medication management, side effects and alternative therapies.
  • Deliver person centred care and treatment plans, including education and support for patients and their families.
  • Maintain accurate documentation of assessments, prescriptions and treatment progress in line with legal and organisational standards.
  • Work collaboratively with psychiatrists, psychologists, neurodevelopmental clinicians, speech and language therapists and occupational therapists.
  • Take part in safeguarding procedures and risk assessments where required.
  • Contribute to service development, audit and quality improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with prescribing legislation, governance frameworks and professional standards.

What you need:

  • Registered nurse with active NMC registration.
  • Non-medical independent prescriber with a postgraduate qualification in independent/supplementary prescribing (V300) on the NMC register.
  • Proven experience as a nurse prescriber specialising in neurodevelopmental conditions in adults and children.
  • Experience in neurodevelopmental, adult mental health, CAMHS and/or learning disability services.
  • Knowledge and experience of ADHD medications and monitoring requirements for adults and children.
  • Knowledge and experience of ADHD titration and medication reviews.
  • Strong clinical and risk management skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.

Pay: £40 to £50 per hour
