Iconic Images works with fine-art photographers across all aspects of art, including fine-art print sales, editorial licensing, licensing, merchandising and publishing.
As Director, Licensing and Business Development, you’ll develop and execute strategies to expand Iconic Images’ base of licensing partnerships, utilizing owned and represented photographic archives to deliver top-line revenue. Key Responsibilities
- Generate Qualified Leads
- Learn and understand Iconic Images’ photographic archives
- Research the market and identify licensing opportunities that map to the archive
- Identify target contacts and decision makers; establish contact via cold calling, email outreach, and other means
- Secure new deals across image licensing with a focus on commercial merchandise, apparel, and high-end licensing opportunities
- Build and Manage Sales Pipeline
- Drive prospects into leads through high-volume outbound activity
- Collaborate with leadership and Licensing Assistant to develop pitch decks aligned to prospect interests
- Drive the Licensing Deal to Close
- Develop business plans and licensing proposals with leadership and Creative Director
- Lead negotiations of deal terms and manage the deal process
- Assemble term sheets and work with legal counsel to draft licensing agreements
- Sales Management
- Track sales activity in CRM accurately
- Maintain productive deal processes and prepare accurate sales forecasts
- Prepare reports and presentations on sales performance
- Maintain brand integrity across licensees and communications
- Manage Licensee Partner Relations & Facilitate Licensing Operations
- Organize key business development tools for licensees
- Partner with licensees to understand business models and secure rights clearance
- Participate in strategy discussions and set targets
- Oversee licensing processes and continuous improvement
Compensation
Sales Executives are eligible for an uncapped commission plan.
Must Haves
- 5 years minimum experience in new business development in licensing for photography
- Experience in full-cycle sales from lead generation through closing
- Knowledge of licensees and copyright law and third-party rights clearances
- Willingness to cold call and actively engage in outreach
- Proven success negotiating licensing contracts and developing new business ideas
- Ability to partner closely with licensees to understand their creative needs
- Understanding of licensing sales dynamics, best practices, and challenges
- Willingness and ability to travel occasionally
