About Us
At AustralianSuper, our purpose is simple: to help members achieve their best financial position in retirement. With more than £200bn in assets under management, we are one of the world’s largest and most forward‑thinking pension funds. Our London office plays a critical role in elevating our global capabilities, and we are now seeking a Manager, Operations Change (International) to join our UK Portfolio Operations team.
The Operations Change team shapes, delivers, and maintains the operational solutions that support our global Investments and Finance & Operations functions. This role is instrumental in developing and implementing operational capability across our international offices, ensuring systems, processes, and governance keep pace with our evolving global investment strategy. As we continue expanding our international footprint, this position offers the opportunity to lead meaningful change initiatives that enhance scale, efficiency, and operational excellence across regions.
The Opportunity
This is a unique opportunity to take ownership of high‑impact operational change programs spanning London, New York, and our global Operations network. You’ll partner closely with colleagues across Operations, Investments, Risk & Compliance, Technology, and external providers to deliver robust, scalable operational solutions.
In this role, you will:
- Coordinate and deliver global Operations change initiatives aligned to strategic priorities.
- Manage UK Operations change programs, identifying risks and implementing corrective actions to ensure delivery against scope, cost, and quality expectations.
- Act as the link between regional Operations teams and global change programs, ensuring effective engagement, governance, and alignment.
- Conduct business analysis, process mapping, testing, and implementation activities to support deployment of new capabilities.
- Ensure new operational technology and data solutions are fit for purpose and aligned to enterprise architecture standards.
- Engage with internal and external stakeholders, vendors, and service providers to shape and transform operational services.
- Provide subject matter expertise into major global projects and represent Operations in key working groups.
- Contribute to broader operational initiatives as directed by the Principal, Portfolio Operations International.
What You’ll Bring
You are an experienced operations and change professional who thrives in complex environments, brings structure to ambiguity, and builds strong relationships across teams and regions. You’ll bring:
- Extensive experience in Investment / Fund Management Operations (Middle Office, Fund Accounting, Treasury Operations, Fund Administration, Custody, etc.).
- Deep understanding of data flows across asset owners, fund managers, custodians, administrators, and registries.
- Strong knowledge of the pension industry and its regulatory environment.
- Proven ability to liaise and collaborate with broad stakeholder groups at all levels.
- Confidence to communicate, challenge assumptions, and influence outcomes.
- Strong experience delivering change or project outcomes within Investment Operations.
- Experience across Project Management, Business Analysis, and Change Management.
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills.
- Ability to work autonomously and manage ambiguity effectively.
- Relationship‑building and networking skills.
- Strong analytical and problem‑solving capability.
- Experience managing third‑party service provider relationships.
- Familiarity with investment platforms such as Aladdin, eFront, CRTS, Calypso, SimCorp Dimension, Bloomberg AIM, FX All, FX Connect, or similar.
You won’t need to meet every requirement from day one — what matters most is your ability to grow into the role and close capability gaps over time.
Qualifications
Tertiary qualification in investments, business, finance, or a related field (essential). Additional qualifications in superannuation, investments, or finance (desired).
