The opportunity

Australia's superannuation industry is navigating a period of significant change, shaped by increasing regulatory expectations, rapid technological advancement and evolving member needs. As we continue to strengthen our global risk framework, we're seeking an experienced risk professional to join our London-based Group Risk & Compliance International team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. This is a unique opportunity to play a key role in embedding MORE (Member Outcomes through Risk Excellence), AustralianSuper's globally enhanced risk management framework. MORE represents one of the most significant risk framework transformations undertaken by the Fund and has high visibility with UK and Australian regulators. Working closely with the Risk team, you'll help drive the next phase of implementation, refinement and operationalisation across the UK business.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the implementation and continuous improvement of the MORE framework across the UK business.
  • Contribute to the development of key risk management components, including:
    • Risk Appetite
    • Key Risk Indicators (KRIs)
    • Risk Taxonomy
    • Risk Reporting
    • Governance and Risk Culture
    • Policies, Standards and GRC systems
  • Partner with stakeholders across the UK and Australia to ensure risk frameworks remain practical, effective and aligned to regulatory expectations.
  • Support risk uplift initiatives and change programmes across multiple workstreams.
  • Draft and review risk documentation, governance papers and Board materials.
  • Assist with the implementation of new controls, reporting requirements and governance processes.
  • Provide effective challenge and guidance to first-line stakeholders.
  • Support with other day-to-day enterprise risk management needs and projects.

About You

You'll be a collaborative and commercially minded risk professional who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building strong stakeholder relationships, bringing:

  • Experience working within Line 1 and/or Line 2 Risk teams in a regulated financial services environment.
  • At least 3 years' experience within asset management, pensions, investment management or a similar buy-side environment.
  • Strong knowledge of risk frameworks, governance and regulatory expectations.
  • Experience supporting risk transformation, uplift or change programmes.
  • Excellent communication, stakeholder management and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities with a high level of attention to detail.
  • The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality outcomes.
  • Strong Microsoft 365 skills, including confidence using Copilot and AI-enabled tools to enhance productivity and analysis.

Qualifications

  • Degree qualified or equivalent professional experience.
  • Hold an accreditation in Risk Management or be willing to obtain one after joining the Fund.

This position is based at London King’s Cross Estate, one of the core assets of the Fund’s global portfolio, with a hybrid work schedule.
