The new SMHRU unit offers mental health rehabilitation services for individuals needing extended inpatient care in a secure environment. Our focus is on autonomy, self-determination, and working collaboratively towards independent living. All consumers are over 18 years of age. About Your New Role:
Gold Coast Health have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Psychologist – Senior to join our newly developed Secure Mental Health Unit and make a positive difference in the lives of others.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide high level collaborative clinical leadership and advocacy for the mental health needs of consumers and carers.
- Provide intensive, developmentally appropriate, consumer-centred, mental health interventions and ongoing assessments for consumers.
- Lead quality activities and/or research to improve clinical practice and multi-disciplinary services.
- Provide clinical practice and operational supervision to students and less experienced staff.
Qualifications:
To be successful in this position you will require:
- A tertiary degree in Psychology (or equivalent).
- AHPRA Registration.
- Driver Licence.
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B.
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required.
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed.
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost).
