Position Summary: Bright Horizons Health provides a variety of allied health services for children, adolescents, and adults. The team comprises a psychologist and two occupational therapists and we are looking for a second psychologist to join our growing multidisciplinary team. Working as part of a neuroaffirming practice, the psychologist will deliver comprehensive psychological services including assessments and treatment of mental health difficulties using evidence-based interventions tailored to each patient presenting concerns. There will also be the opportunity to conduct assessments including cognitive, academic and neurodevelopment assessments. Working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, the psychologist aims to enhance the emotional wellbeing, learning outcomes, functional independence, and participation in daily life. Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct psychological assessments, including intake interviews. Experience with standardised assessments is highly desired.
  • Diagnose mental health conditions in accordance with DSM-5-TR criteria.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans.
  • Deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions (e.g., CBT, ACT, mindfulness-based approaches).
  • Monitor client progress and adjust treatment plans as needed.
  • Maintain clinical records and patient confidentiality in accordance with the professional guidelines and the APS Ethical Guidelines.
  • Manage a caseload effectively, including scheduling and follow-ups.
  • Prepare reports, treatment summaries, and correspondence (e.g., GP letters for Mental Health Treatment Plans).
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legal, ethical, and professional standards (AHPRA, APS guidelines) including current membership and registration.
  • Maintain own Professional Indemnity Insurance.
  • Liaise with other healthcare professionals where needed including in-house GP, Psychologist and Occupational Therapists.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development and supervision.
  • Provide referrals to other services when appropriate.

Selection Criteria:

  • Registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia (via AHPRA).
  • Demonstrated experience in delivering evidence-based psychological therapies.
  • Strong assessment, formulation, and treatment planning skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  • High level of professionalism and ethical practice.
  • Endorsement in a specific area (e.g., Clinical Psychology, Health Psychology, Educational Developmental Psychology).
  • Experience working across the lifespan (e.g., children, adolescents, adults).
  • Experience working with neurodiverse individuals.
  • Experience in private practice or community mental health settings.
  • Familiarity with Medicare.
  • Clinical reasoning and problem-solving.
  • Empathy and emotional intelligence.
  • Time management and organisational skills.
  • Cultural competence and inclusivity.
  • Adaptability and resilience.

Working Conditions:

  • Sessions may be delivered in person and/or via telehealth.
  • Flexible working hours may be required, including evenings.
  • Caseload volume will vary depending on service demand.
