Regulatory Operations Analyst for Global Network Management (GNM) — Birmingham
Global Network Management (GNM) is a global team within Regulatory & Cross Product Operations. GNM handles the Agent Bank Selection, Appointment and Due Diligence for Deutsche Bank\'s internal entities. All agent banks holding assets in custody or client money must complete due diligence to satisfy regulatory requirements from sources such as CASS, BaFin, and CFTC. The AFME questionnaire is the industry standard adopted by GNM. The objective of the due diligence is to review risks in the decision to entrust Deutsche Bank assets to an Agent Bank, assess against Deutsche Bank’s risk appetite, and address or mitigate risks where possible.
GNM is responsible for regulatory obligations related to the jurisdictions of Deutsche Bank’s internal entities. Many regulations focus on Client Asset Protection, and GNM’s adherence to processes and controls is critical to regulatory compliance.
Your Responsibilities
- Remote due diligence including reviewing agent responses, assessing, identifying, escalating risks, and monitoring through to completion; includes legal documentation review.
- Manage incoming market news (changes, issues, disruptions) and distribute to internal stakeholders.
- Handle operational queries and escalations raised internally or by the agent bank network; respond in a timely and appropriate manner; escalate to management when needed.
- Manage, interpret and present data to support regulatory reporting, reconciliations and audit requests.
- Assist with compliance to Regulatory obligations (e.g., CASS (FCA), SCAF (MiFID II/BaFIN), CFTC).
Your Skills And Experience
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize and manage workload against tight timeframes; provide accurate status updates and highlight remedial work where required.
- Strong regulatory/risk awareness with meticulous attention to detail.
- Ability to read, digest and interpret detailed agent bank responses (AFME ~400 questions) and identify issues or risks for review/escalation.
- Confident in coordinating, hosting and minuting conference calls (Teams) with participants up to senior management and external audiences.
- Experience with data review and analysis (Excel functions, pivots, VLOOKUP, text functions; SharePoint/Tableau useful) and ability to produce concise reports in PowerPoint/Excel.
- Adaptable and flexible with a willingness to learn and support different workstreams within the global team.
