We have an exciting 3-month temporary opportunity for a Senior Assistant Merchandiser to join our client, a global designer and retailer, in their Merchandising and Planning function in their largest category, dresses. Reporting to the Senior Merchandiser, you'll play a key role in providing support across the department. You will be confident, organised, and able to prioritise, be analytical and passionate about the full product range, be eager to learn, develop and grow within the role, and be fully comfortable in a growing, fast-paced environment.
Senior Assistant Merchandiser Role
- Reporting sales on a daily and weekly basis, assisting with weekly trade analysis and identifying key opportunities and risks
- Updating WSSIs and line card data on a weekly basis and supporting the senior merchandiser with forecasting
- Working with the buying team and suppliers to manage the critical path
- Updating the delivery schedule and forecasting business intake
- Managing the team’s MAA, working together to communicate with the warehouse on intake, the ecom team on product go live, and the marketing team on product priorities
- Working with a senior merchandiser to identify and action promotions and markdowns
- Supporting MAAs with an overview of store performance and allocations
- Contributing to the company's commitment to environmental and social responsibility by integrating sustainable practices into everyday work, including minimising waste, promoting responsible sourcing, supporting circular economy initiatives and encouraging customers and colleagues to make choices that align with sustainability values
Senior Assistant Merchandiser Essentials
- Demonstrating excellent Excel skills and experience with line cards, WSSIs, trade reporting and forecasting
- Bringing 12 months+ experience working in fashion merchandising
- Working within a fast-paced trading environment
- Understanding product, retail environments and showing a passion for data and numbers
- Exhibiting strong organisational skills with the ability to multitask and work under pressure
- Maintaining accuracy and attention to detail related to product, process and systems
- Possessing excellent numerical, written and verbal communication skills
