We’re recruiting a proactive and organised Safeguarding and Wellbeing Officer to support a large-scale academic programme. This varied role spans pre-event planning and on-site delivery, including recruitment coordination, safeguarding, and student welfare. During peak summer delivery, you’ll play a hands-on role supporting participants and ambassadors, ensuring a safe, smooth and engaging experience within a dynamic, campus-based environment.
SAFEGUARDING AND WELLBEING OFFICER ROLE:
- Leading safeguarding training and awareness by supporting staff, mentors and stakeholders to understand policies and maintain high standards of student welfare.
- Coordinating safeguarding practices, including safer recruitment, DBS checks, policy updates, data compliance and secure record management.
- Supporting Designated Safeguarding Leads by managing safeguarding processes, liaising with external agencies and embedding best practice across programmes.
- Maintaining accurate safeguarding, welfare and compliance records, including training logs, behavioural concerns, dietary and medical information.
- Managing safeguarding delivery during programmes by overseeing incident tracking, coordinating welfare support and ensuring compliance with escalation procedures.
- Conducting investigations, interviews and incident reviews while ensuring appropriate follow-up actions and recommendations for continuous improvement.
- Supporting student wellbeing through health monitoring, mental health support and coordination with accommodation teams to ensure safe programme delivery.
