We are supporting a leading higher education institution in the recruitment of a Learning Technologist to join a commercially focused education division delivering global programmes to thousands of students worldwide. This role will support the delivery of existing degree programmes while also contributing to a major transformation of online and distance learning provision.
This is a unique opportunity to be involved in shaping future platform design, learning approaches, and programme delivery within an ambitious and innovative environment.
LEARNING TECHNOLOGIST ROLE:- Setting up, managing and maintaining course spaces across VLEs to ensure accurate, accessible and compliant content
- Supporting academics to update subject guides, create resources and set up VLE activities, including webinars, quizzes and forums
- Liaising with external partners to support VLE delivery and ensure a high‑quality student experience
- Developing and enhancing digital learning resources and collaborating with internal teams to maintain online content
- Responding to technical queries from staff and students, and providing up‑to‑date training and guidance resources
- Designing and delivering live training sessions for staff and students
- Using project‑management best practices to maintain trackers, complete tasks on time and implement process improvements
- Monitoring global trends in digital learning and contributing ideas and improvements to Global Programmes initiatives
- Collaborating closely with academics and internal departments to develop, repurpose, and maintain online content
- Maintaining VLEs and related learning and assessment platforms.
- Holding a degree or equivalent professional experience in learning technology, digital education or a related field
- Communicating technical concepts clearly to non‑technical audiences
- Supporting VLEs such as Moodle or Canvas within a higher‑education context
- Proficient in HTML
- Understanding learning technologies and their application in online and blended learning
- Applying accessibility standards, digital content quality assurance and best practice in learning design
- Providing technical support, troubleshooting and training for staff and students
- Analysing problems, identifying solutions and working independently while collaborating effectively with internal and external teams
