The Interim Director of Recruitment and Admissions is accountable for delivering student recruitment targets for a prestigious higher education institution. The role leads the development and delivery of recruitment strategies, with a strong focus on diversification and widening access. You will drive initiatives that reflect the School's commitment to attracting applicants from a broad range of markets and backgrounds, ensuring inclusive, sustainable growth across all recruitment activity.
ROLE:
- Overseeing standard operating procedures to deliver student enrolment targets and supporting the Academic Registrar in repositioning Recruitment and Admissions into a standalone division.
- Guiding and supporting the Head of Admissions in implementing review recommendations and leading the development and implementation of the student recruitment strategy.
- Leading a team of around 100 staff, modelling positive behaviour, providing clear guidance, and responding to internal and external policy developments.
- Ensuring admissions policies and processes operate effectively with quality, transparency, consistency, and fairness, while overseeing optimisation of Scholarships and Financial Support to align with recruitment objectives.
- Overseeing on-campus, off-campus, and virtual recruitment events and ensuring Study Abroad and Student Exchange recruitment meets internationalisation and applicant experience objectives.
- Overseeing development and implementation of the Student Marketing plan and leading delivery of recruitment reports to key School committees, including RAG, SNAF, APRC, and SMC.
- Embedding a high-performance, KPI-driven culture, contributing to divisional strategic direction, building cross-School relationships, and ensuring robust compliance with UKVI, DPA, GDPR, CMA, and safeguarding requirements.
ESSENTIALS:
- Having excellent communication skills and experience in leading change.
- Demonstrating experience in leading the strategic development of systems and admissions processes to enhance the customer experience and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
- Demonstrating experience in developing, leading and implementing a student recruitment strategy at an institutional level.
- Knowing Access and Participation Plans and experience of delivering widening access to targets.
