As a market leading insurance practice, the firm provides clients with ready access to advice on contentious issues regardless of business sector or location, handling disputes of all sizes up to complex multi-jurisdictional cases.

The Role

Our client’s Manchester-based Professional Indemnity team has grown significantly in recent years and the team plans to grow further in 2025. To that end, our client wishes to recruit an experienced lawyer (4-8 PQE) to handle their own caseload of complex and diverse professional indemnity claims (potentially including D&O claims) and assist Partners with high value and multi-party claims where required.

Key Requirements:

  1. Previous experience within insurance litigation (ideally professional indemnity) or commercial litigation (4-8 PQE)
  2. An ability to prioritise workload
  3. An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and concise reports
  4. Ability to pay attention to detail
  5. Ability to work with case management systems
  6. The personal skills to deal with such work as major and expensive litigation involving liaison with senior claims handlers
  7. Legal qualification required – solicitor/FCILEx

Desirable:

  1. Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole.
  2. Claims handling experience (via a previous secondment or otherwise).
