Our client is an international law firm with an outstanding reputation and Manchester is the main location of their regional property damage offering. The team carry out a broad range of defendant and claimant work, including complex liability claims and subrogated recoveries arising from the full range of insurable risks. The team are also known for advising on policy coverage and handling pure construction disputes and business interruption claims.
The partners in Manchester wish to recruit a junior lawyer to handle a wide-ranging caseload of their own and support more experienced lawyers as required with complex matters. The successful candidate can expect to handle liability claims, recoveries and coverage disputes. There is early client contact and likely to be significant secondment opportunities in the future.
Key requirements:
- Previous commercial insurance/commercial litigation experience (NQ – 3 PQE)
- An ability to prioritise workload
- An ability to communicate in writing and prepare succinct and precise reports
- Ability to pay attention to detail
- Ability to work with case management systems
- The personal skills to deal with major and expensive litigation, including liaising with senior claims handlers
- Legal qualification (solicitor/FCILEx)
Desirable:
- Willingness to play a role in the development of client relationships and of the practice as a whole
- Claims handling experience (via a previous secondment or otherwise)
